The third in a series of well-crafted and highly anticipated beer dinners, Chef Carlos Rodriguez will be at it again, this time featuring the beers of the indomitable Brewdog Brewery of Scotland. Famous for its End of History, Sink the Bismarck and Tactical Nuclear Penguin beers – this brewery is the hands-down maverick of the brewing world. Come join the festivities as we journey through the strange and wonderful world of Brewdog craft beers.

Gravity Cask 2010: this event will feature beers custom-made for Anvil Bar & Refuge. In other words, you will not find these beers any place else. The rare and unique casks will come from local and continental European breweries, including these one-of-a-kind beers:
- Southern Star Smoked Porter — originally brewed for the pro-am competition at the Great American Beer Festival, Kevin Floyd asked that this cask be flavored with cocoa nibs and Madagascar vanilla beans.
- Cask-conditioned Independence Oatmeal Stout infused with Anvil’s signature Bourbon Cherries
If you always thought Anvil was just a cocktail bar, this is the event to show you that they take craft beer just as seriously as they do spirits. Come take the plunge into craft beer.

An all-day event celebrating one of America’s most important and historical breweries: Samuel Adams. Sam Adams draft beer will be specially priced and Joe Jackson will be giving out special “goodies” to those in attendance. Dixie Cup Homebrew Competition: Strange Brew
The Dixie Cup is one of the nation’s oldest homebrewing competitions and is noted for its great mix of irreverent fun as well as its seriousness about beer. The Dixie Cup is one of the final Qualifying Events for The Masters Championship of Amateur Brewing and is the final competition in the series that determines the Lone Star Circuit Homebrewer of the Year, the Lone Star Circuit Homebrew Team of the Year, and the Lone Star Circuit Homebrew Club of the Year. Texas Girl’s Pint Out Rare Beers of the Midwest at Spec’s
Every region of the nation has a reputed flavor profile: the West Coast is known for its assertive, hoppy beers, characterized by Stone; the East Coast, with breweries like Dogfish Head and seasonally prolific 21st Amendment, is quite experimental, producing lots of big beers and twists on (especially Belgian) tradition. You don’t as often hear of the Midwestern breweries’ rep, which is as diverse as the region. Were seeking to remedy this with Texas Girls Pint Out’s rare Midwestern beer tasting at Spec’s.

Mucky Duck - Herb Remington cancelled. Independence - bottles $4.50 … draft $6.25 … very disappointing!!! BUT Andrew at Whole Food SL from New Belgium = AWESOMEEEEEE!!! Talked about the beers, sampling 7 different brews. Just a great time. THAT was worth the trip!
