A few weeks ago, Live It BIG, Inc, the charity organization behind Monsters Of Beer Charity Festival and Camp Beer, sent out a call (with the help of Diverse Works) to artists around the city to see what they might do with a plain ordinary keg. The idea was simple: could a keg be made into a work of art?
Well, several talented artists from the Houston community answered the call and on Saturday, November 12th, those in attendance at the Monsters Of Beer Charity Festival will get a chance to see how the kegs turned out. And you will have a chance to take one home as well.
Each Art Keg will be on sale via Silent Auction with all proceeds going toward Live It BIG’s charitable mission of supporting small and start-up charities in Houston. These are working, 1/2 barrel kegs. So, if you are a talented homebrewer you can have one of these unique works of art to hold your beer and generally impress your friends, etc. No telling how much each keg will go for, but it will be a one-of-a-kind piece of art that you can use and re-use for years to come.
